Machine Screws

Machine screws are a type of fastener used in metalworking and other applications where a precise, threaded hole is needed. They are typically made from steel or brass and come in a wide range of sizes and lengths, with the most common sizes ranging from #0 to ¾" in diameter.

Machine screws are characterised by their uniform thread size and pitch, which allows them to be used with nuts or tapped holes. They have a flat, circular head that can be countersunk or left exposed, depending on the application. The head of the screw may have a slotted or Phillips drive, or may be designed for use with a hex wrench.

Machine screws are used in a variety of applications, including electronics, machinery, and automotive equipment. They can be used to attach components to metal frames or panels, secure electrical connectors and switches, and mount parts inside machinery or engines.

When selecting machine screws, it is important to consider factors such as the size and strength of the screw, the material being fastened, and the environment in which the screws will be used. For example, in corrosive or high-temperature environments, it may be necessary to use screws made from stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. Additionally, it is important to select the correct size and length of screw for the job, and to ensure that the screw is installed with the proper torque to prevent damage or failure.
